7 a.m. Alex and the start of the Morning by doing a doodle on his Doodle Pad. At the moment just scribbling but it’s good that he is interested in doing it.
8 a.m. took Alexander to the daycare center downstairs. After a few days away from daycare( which might feel like a few months to a young child) he was a little bit hesitant going inside, but then suddenly walked off with his teacher. Very good.
There has been a little rain this morning and the sky is very overcast. Probably remnants from the second typhoon that swept past Taipei over the weekend.
11 a.m. Departed for Tainan on my scooter. 1st needed to give the fuel tank its weekly top up. Making it a habit to have a full tank Monday morning. Then that’s one less thing to worry about.
Clouds have scattered and now the sun is beaming down. A bit muggy because of the morning rain evaporating.
On the way to Tainan there was still some destruction of trees along the roadside in the Kaohsiung area. But as I got closer to Tainan I didn’t see much damage at all. In fact I passed a large banana plantation after crossing over into Tainan. It stood untouched. So obviously Kaohsiung got the worse of that typhoon.
12:00 p.m. Arrived at school early as I want to have a rest before class at 2p.m. One of the class rooms has suffered some water damage from the deluge of rain after the typhoon. The floor was a mini pond. Surprisingly my classroom next door was dry and immaculate. Thank goodness.
2:00 p.m. ~ 3:30 p.m. E1E2 (Elementary students grade 1 and 2) Cindy, Hank, David, Thomas, Stitch.
4:40 p.m. ~ 6:00 p.m. E4. Shawn, Sean, Danny, Apple, Ann.
6:00 p.m. ~ 7:00 p.m.. Murphy.
Dinner tonight was a can of Ensure and a banana. I also snacked on a packet of Nacho Cheese Doritos. Ah, a dietary weakness of mine: cheese flavored corn chips.
8:30p.m. Arrived home and had to be quiet. Alexander was still awake. Chia was trying to get him to sleep. I think today maybe he was extra excited as he had returned to his daycare. That’s my guess anyway as to why he was still awake.
9:00 p.m. Heard on the news that a New Jersey resident and a naturalised US citizen of Afghan origin has been named as a suspect in the Manhattan bombing on the weekend that injured 29 people.
A second bomb had also been uncovered by police four blocks away and diffused safely, before being sent to the FBI in Virginia for forensic examination.
Both bombs were pressure cookers filled with shrapnel, christmas lights and an explosive compound. The trigger was a flip phone, which failed to detonate the second device. Thank goodness.
9:15 p.m. Alex finally gone to sleep. The great thing is once he is asleep he stays asleep until morning. He has always been a good night sleeper. Ever since he was just a few months old he has blessed us by.allowing us all to have a full nights sleep, without disturbance. Good for him. Good for us.
