A gift from Mia’s mother.

Kaohsiung. Taiwan.

Saturday. Cloudy.26°c.

5:30 a.m. Thinking Alexander would sleep in this morning … nooooo, up at the crack of dawn like a farmer.

9:00 a.m. ~10:30 a.m.As everyone was up early we decided to go out for the morning. We went to pier no.2 that used to be a rail yard servicing the old Kaohsiung port. Now it’s an art area where artists create large works for open air display. And it’s free! There are also indoor art studios as well snack shops and coffee houses. We decided to rent a couple of bicycles to get around. Bicycle rental for a day is $150NT.

By about 10:20 a.m. he sun was starting to cook and Alexander was wanting to sleep. So, Time to go home.

3:00 p.m.~ 5:00 p.m. Arrived at Mia’s for her Saturday English tuition class. Today we needed to read through 5 short stories for an English-speaking competition she wants to enter in November.

After we did several readings and corrected pronunciation errors we then got back into studying Albert Einstein. We have almost finished his biography. It has been a very interesting read.

Mias mother gave me a gift of two packs of baby bubble bath today. Which was a stroke of good luck as we just ran out of baby bath soap yesterday. So that was a very welcomed surprise. Thankyou!

630 p.m. Decided to get takeout before arriving home. Picked up 1 steak and 1 chicken dinner for Chia and myself with some corn soup that Alexander could have.

8:30 p.m. I put Alexander to bed tonight while Chia went out to grab a few groceries from Carrefour. She rode the new bicycle that dad had won during the moon festival last month. She’s never done that before. I guess the bicycle ride this morning gave her some inspiration as usually we will either walk or ride a scooter to go grocery shopping. How curious.
