Sunday. Clear blue skies. 19°c.
7:48 a.m. Happy New Year. I hope 2017 will be a good year for you. As usual it will take me a while to get used to the new date year. I usually find myself dating things the previous year for a while, until rhe brain is reprogrammed.
Alexander woke spot on.7a.m. as usual. Nothing new about that. Had his morning milk and then started watching Elmo ABC videos on his tablet.
Chia took Alexander to a colleagues wedding yesterday. I decided to do a little window shopping. Weddings bore me. They are all the same. Lots of food of which 90% I can’t eat, because it’s predominantly seafood. I like fish and maybe deep fried prawns, but my sea food tastes end there. Crab, Lobster and the others I don’t like. They taste very bland to me and very fishy, haha.
At about 1:30 p.m. I Picked up Alexander and took him home for his midday nap while Chia socialised and consumed. Alexander was asleep before I got in the front door. So I put him to bed and started deconstructing a new circuit that I wasn’t happy with and rebuilt it. And that’s about it for new years eve. See what happens today.
8:00 a.m. Had a “Good Morning Breakfast”. Chia and I had toasted sandwiches and coffee. Alex had some tasty breadsticks.
9:00 a.m. We took Alexander to Kaohsiung central park to run, walk and look around at its large expanse of grass, hills and fish ponds.
10:00 a.m. Next stop was the Kaohsiung Science Museum. Chia wanted to try out their 6 story high gravy spiral slide. I of course also took up the challenge, though as I was zooming down and feeling the effects of G-Forces I though I better not stop smiling or people will see the look of fear in my stupid face. Ha! So I keep grinning stupidly.
After that I decided I wanted to try the Moon Walker. Which was a moon gravity simulator that holds you in a suspended harness and allows you to bounce around and artifical moon surface. In front of you is a large interactive screen that slows you a moonscape. As you bounce it moves forward and you follow a path of several hundred meters. It looked simple and straight foward but was a pretty tiring journey. Those Astronauts must of been very fit to walk around on the moon. Interesting experience.
11:45 a.m. Headed home so Alexander could have his daily nap and we could have some lunch.
12:10 p.m. Skyped mum and dad for an hour and a half. Got to see and hear about their recent adventure on a cruise ship to New Zealand. They have some good photos and memories. Nice. It’s also stinking hot in their part of Australia right now. In contrast to the pleasant cool weather we have here. It can get hot in Taiwan but is rarely extreme as it is in the old country. As lovely as Australia can be I admit I don’t miss that summer heat!
3:30 We went out in.the afternoon to a Carrefour shopping center near Ikea. It wasn’t the Carrefour surpermarket that I wanted to goto as I have my own store nearby. It was a Japanese import store within the building I wanted to shop at. They have some cheap but good quailty feather pillows that I wanted to buy for the new year. Makes sense to start off 2017 with fresh pillows and good sleep!
4:30 a.m. After our beed linen shopping we decided to walk around an adjacent building with a movie theatre complex and resturants. Stopped at a gourmet burger restaurant for dinner. They serve real giant burgers and fries slong with coca cola in vintage glass bottles. I say real burgers comparing them with those terrible fake burgers you would get at McDonald’s. I felt pretty bloated and satisfied after our meal. It was about 40NT more expensive than a combo meal you could buy at McDonald’s etc. But well worth it. I will definitely be going there again!
6:00 p.m. Arrived home to give Alexander his bath and settle down for the evening. He was asleep by 8p.m.
8:00 a.m. Lazy Sunday evening. Watched the X-Files and a few other TV reruns before retiring to bed. New Years is done. Happy New Year!
