Saturday 7th, 2017 | A quiet Stretch

A forested stretch of highway in Tainan that I now detour through. It goes for about 3 kilometers. I love this stretch of road. Minimal traffic, fresh air and peace of mind.

Saturday. 24°c.

1130 a.m. Set off to Tainan. I have class with Mia at 2pm. Last week we missed class as she went to Chiayi with her family for New Years break. So our last class was on Christmas eve. I had given her a Christmas gift. An electronics kit of course. So I am curious if she had time to do any projects and what her opinions are. Any feedback can only help in preparing future kits.

1:00 p.m. Stopped by the Tainan electronics warehouse to source a few more supplies.

2:00 p.m. arrived at Mia’s house just on time. Today we are continuing to learn about the inventor Benjamin Franklin. I didn’t realize that he was such an interesting guy. He invented bifocal glasses, a robot hand  the all night Street Lamp, the glass harmonica, discovered electricity in clouds with the famous key on the kite, invented the rechargeable battery, discovered the Gulf Stream and also discovered with a science experiment that light color clothing is cool and dark colored clothing is hot which is why we now wear dark in winter and light in the summer because of this. On top of this he opened America’s first fire station in Philadelphia and America’s first Public Library and General Hospital System. What an amazing old guy.

4:00 p.m. Finished class and headed back home.

7:00 p.m. Went with Chia and Alexander to meet a young lady who wanted to foster another one of the kittens. She travelled for 2 hours from Pingtung (where dad’s parents live in the southern tip) just to collect the kitten. Wow, the things people will do to get something they obviously really want. Amazing.

10:00 p.m. Went out for a quick 2 minute walk to see a new mini-mart that has opened nearby. It’s called “Simple Mart” a micro convenience / grocery store. And it was pretty cheap. Yep we’ll be going there again.

11:30 p.m. Time to sleep.
