Kending, Pingtung County, Taiwan.
7:00 a.m. No sleep in this morning of course. Alex was up ready for another day. So it was a quick feed and breakfast and off to visit great grandfathers first.
8:30 a.m. This morning we went to the Taiwan National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium. And it was impressive. There are thousands of live fish species from around the world to view. They are housed in a football stadium sized aquarium with living reefs, a sunken ship and a maze of transparent under water tunnels and caves where you can basically walk through a school of sharks etc. I was happy to see NO live killer whales or doplphins etc. Those were all large fiber glass models displayed in a water park area for.kids and hanging high above vistors in the main entrance. I support not keeping whales and dolphins captive. It is rather cruel to see such huge, gentle and such highly intelligent social creatures in capitivty. So that was a good thing not to see here.
Alexander had a great time. Mostly his favorite word for the day was “Wow, wow, wow.” Ha.
12:30 p.m. Returned back to the hotel for lunch and Alexander’s midday nap.
4:00 p.m. Dropped by great grandfather’s again and then went for evening stroll around the neighborhood. This little town has been flooded with visitors all day who are going to the hotsprings hotels. But now the traffic is starting to dwindle, thank goodness.
7:00 p.m. Had another hotsprings bath for a good 40 minutes. Ah it was lovely. I usually am not a hot springs person because some of them have a strong sulfur smell. But the ones in this particular area don’t have that smell, so thats great for my skin and nose! Ha.
10:00 p.m. Early to bed tonight. In the morning we will leave early to return home to Kaohsiung.
