Thursday. 21°c. Clear skies.
It’s been almost a week since my last entry. My goodness, talk about gone in a flash. March has marched on to the end without a break. Thankfully today though is that golden day called payday!
6:00 a.m. Up early as normal Alexander had his 1 and a half bottles of milk. Then spent the rest of the time playing with his toy cars.
This week Alexander has been constantly improving his vocabulary. I think mostly with the help of the toy notebook computer we bought him at the beginning of this month. It’s a spelling and ABC learner. Basically he can find most of the letters on the keyboard as the voice asks “where is ‘a'”? Etc. And it associates letters with basic words, where he gains his extra vocabulary. Cool. It was a good little investment.
3:30 p.m. Arrived in Tainan and started my 1 on 1 class with Ariel.
5:00 p.m. Young Learners class. Today was a DIY class with regards to Easter. Had an Easter egg hunt and then made a paper cut out rabbit. My boss had prepared some hard boiled eggs with some decorations around them. The idea of chocolate or candy Easter eggs in Taiwan is rare. In fact Ive never seen one here. Easter eggs are real hen eggs, boiled and painted. Kids usually break them open and eat them on the spot. Ha! I guess it much healthier anyway.
6:30 p.m. Payday and home time. March pay was reasonable. I can now catch up on some overdue bills. I’ll settle all those tomorrow as it is the beginning of a long weekend. No class again until next Wednesday. Monday is “children’s day” and Tuesday is “Tomb Sweeping Day”. It has always bothered me that these two days are side by side. One celebrates life and the other remembers life. The Alpha and Omega. I’d rather just focus on life.
7:00 p.m. Dropped by my wholesaler on the way home to get some supplies. I will spend the long weekend making some kits to sell for April. This month sales have improved. Sold six kits. Not much, but still better than none!
